Frequently Asked Questions

The digital SAT is a new format of the SAT exam introduced by the College Board. It provides a shorter test with more time per question, and is administered on a computer. The digital SAT is customized to each student's performance, with harder questions for those who perform well in the first section. Compared to the traditional paper-and-pencil SAT, the digital version is shorter and combines the reading and writing sections

The Digital SAT has 98 questions and students must complete within 134 minutes. This is divided into Reading/Writing with 54 questions and 64 minutes, and Math with 44 questions with 70 minutes.

  • The test is administrated on a computer. Each student will receive different sets of questions, although they all sit in one testing center, such as in a high school cafeteria
  •  College Board has three types of questions: Easy, Middle level and Advanced, the more difficult, the more points the question carries
  • Students are presented with easy question first, then gradually with more and more difficult questions.
  • The test is divided into Section I and Section II, with a 10-min break in between
  • If a student couldn't answer more difficult questions in Section I, then in Section II, the student will only receive easy and mid level questions. This means the student will unlikely to achieve very high scores.
